The 2020 dates are out !

The season starts as it’s done over the last few years at Penparc near Cardigan, hosted by the Teifiside Club. With entries capped at 140 last year, it was a packed programme of racing at what has become one of the best tracks on the circuit.

Border’s meeting has moved forward from May to April this season and whilst it’s currently planned to be at Bicton again this is to be finally confirmed. The track was improved in 2019 from 2018, but it wasn’t the best place to pass, but the club are looking to make improvements to the site, however given it’s usage for enduro and other events there are limitations.

The Mid Wales club have spent quite a lot of the club finances at the track at Abbeycwmhir, in particular levelling out the start-finish section and other work near the ‘bridges’ at either end. Racing is always open, fast and with lots of options so looking forward again to the visit in May and July. It will be a gated start (unlike the usual elastic).

The Welsh Championship will be on Saturday at Narberth this year, rather than the Sunday. The Evo’s and the Stuart Davies memorial race will be on Sunday and there’ll be non-championship racing for the classics that day as well. They’ll be stricter controls on camping and access to the site, as the popularity of the two-day event continues to grow.

Acorns will be running a month later in August this year, at their usual site next to the M6 near Newcastle under Lyme, with easy access to North and South Walian riders.

Teifiside have moved back into August again for 2020, and round 7 of the championship will be a ‘double points’ event, with two blocks of racing counting for the enhancement. Such was the event well organised last year that they also managed to run 4 blocks of racing.

Chester’s solo championship will be back at Rhos y Madoc in September, as it was in 2019, with Llanthony as usual providing the final round in 2020. Lets hope its not the usual weather as we’ve seen 3 times in the last 4 years.

All rounds are to count and check the Guidelines to look at scoring, recommended race order and other notes to help you get the most from your 2020 season.
